The Indian Girl part 2

For many months, peace was made with the colonists and my tribe. Then came hard times when their people were dying from lack of food and cold winters. Pocahontas saved them by asking her father to trade with the colonists and give them the food they needed. Powhatan agreed and Pocahontas gave them corn, beans, and many other foods. Lots more people came to live in the colonists' town they called James Fort. One cold winter day when I was walking, I met an Englishman and he wanted to trade with me. I went to my village and returned with a basket of food. He gave me the most beautiful colored beads I ever saw, the shade of the blue sky. I wonder if peace will stay between the white settlers and my people.
