Today the pond was bursting with life. I found frogs and tadpoles. I brought home some reeds with which to weave a mat. Two Indians came to our house when we were having our noon meal. They came in while Pa was in the wheat fields. Luckily, Joseph was in the house and all that the Indians took was some tobacco and bread. I did not go outside the rest of the day for fear they would return.
